We are an all-volunteer fire department composed of 35 dedicated members and equipped with a fleet that includes three engines, a rescue, a tanker, a brush truck, two support units, and an off-road apparatus. We proudly provide high-quality service to our community and surrounding areas, responding to approximately 250 calls each year for fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and public education activities.
The East Sullivan County Volunteer Fire Department participates in a wide variety of activities within the eastern Sullivan County area. In addition to responding to emergency incidents, we perform public education demonstrations, fundraising activities, public event standbys, apparatus maintenance, and many other support functions. Our members participate in numerous regional fire schools, state certification courses, college-level courses, and National Fire Academy courses. Most expenses incurred by members while attending training are reimbursed.
Individuals interested in joining our department must be physically and mentally prepared to perform firefighting duties under all weather conditions and operational circumstances.
